Broken Bed

So last weekend my bed broke...lol...I wasn't doing anything! I swear! We had a dinner type party at the house, and since only about 4 people came it was intimate and over pretty quickly. Sad face. Especially since I had bought lost of different drinks and even made a cake! I was upset some friends from work who said they would be there didn't make it. :(
After everyone left, one of my old college roommates decided to stay and chill. She lives about an hour away, and we hardly ever get to see each other, so great catch up time. :) We sat in my room just chatting about everything. The good 'ole times in college, our childhoods, and all sorts of things we have in common that made us such good friends...aka...fanfiction, geeky obsessions, love of music and movies...lol. Just chilling.
It was during this chilling that one of the slats of my bed fell. No big deal, happens all the time because I don't have a box springs, just my mattress on the boards keeping it on the bed frame. Slat fell, didn't even get up to check, because it was just one board...big mistake...lol...
Next thing I know the bed rail is pulling from the frame and the rail had bended in the most ridiculous way. *creak* and we go falling to the ground... LoL. So we had to dismantle my bead and put the frame against the wall and my mattress is now on the ground. Yea back pain. So I sleep in a little mound of pillows with my laptop. Woot for that!
We vacuum and finish rearranging the room and we sit back on the bed. We are joined by my current roommate J. Since we all went to college we sit and continue with the chilling. We laugh till we cry, and reminisce over the best times. Which leads me to the point funniest thing ever. Even more funny than the bed collapsing with R and me on it.
J is a high school teacher, and she was telling us some of her funny stories from the end of the year. One that included one of her students trying to fold himself into a cirle contained. You know the ones, they are for toys or recycling, they have rope handles and can be bought at Wal-Mart in fun colors? She had had it in her classroom for a recycling drive. Anyway, so one of her boys folds himself in there, leaving his arms and legs sticking out, and her principal walks by as the falls over and rolls across the floor in the front of the room...lol...If that isn't amusing enough. The Principal pulls her out of the room to ask about what's going on, and when she goes back in J is like, "I guess you've learned your lesson,"
I respond, "Yea, next time use lubricant," LoL. It was probably one of those you had to be there things, but we cracked up. We didn't stop laughing for the longest time. It was good. I'm going to miss my girls when I move back home next month. :( But while I'm here I am storing up as many good memories as possible. :)

Back is all good today. I've been propped up/burrowed into my mound of pillows all day. I didn't really plan to move other than to eat, and I have succeeded in being a bum...mission accomplished.
